Cacao Farm & Botanical Garden
On this ecological tour, you will visit a privately owned and operated chocolate farm with botanical gardens. Walk through the lush tropical rainforest, botanical gardens and cacao plantation of the property’s 30 acres, while being introduced to the area’s flora and fauna. Howler monkeys, toucans, sloths, and a wide variety of birds and butterflies can often be seen here.
Then learn about the artisanal production of chocolate, from cacao bean to chocolate bar! See how the cacao is dried and roasted, then turned into organic nibs and chocolate. Also learn about the farm’s sustainable practices and relationship with the local community. Of course, no chocolate tour would be complete without sampling some!
On the way to the farm, you will have the opportunity to spot some dolphins near Dolphin Bay. After visiting the farm, you will have some time to snorkel at a nearby beach, where a delicious local lunch will be provided.
